Rossi Loft History
The Rossi Loft was founded in 1958 by Ernie Rossi (deceased), over 40 years ago. The
early emphasis was placed on long distance
flying predominantly, but the Rossi Loft
changed its focus in the late 1980’s. The
reason for change was viewed by its current manager, Tony Rossi (son of the founder) a
step to the future millennium. Tony realized the sport is changing. Emphasis from local level competition to broad fronts and national, even international competitions are common! This global expansion will change pigeon racing forever!

The Rossi Family The sport is growing and will continue, but in a different style. It is now possible to send birds to many open band races, auctions, stake races and compete for huge monetary prizes from your small loft in the backyard, with very little effort! Yes, we feel this is fantastic. For this reason, we feel it is more important than ever that the "small lofts" obtain the super stock pairs needed to compete on a national level or for that matter, "internationally", and win!

A partnership that made history!
With the passing of Ernie Rossi in 1992, a huge void was created at the Rossi Loft. Considering that Ernie Rossi was an extremely intelligent and detail oriented fancier, how could the Rossi success ever continue? Tony Rossi immediately surveyed the situation and looked to one of his closest friends and created a new partnership that made history!

Pieper Brothers and Tony Rossi formed a partnership that few have ever equaled. Since 1992, no loft in this area has even come close to the glory that surrounded this partnership. This partnership was responsible for hundreds of winners in competition up to 2000 birds. The special races won are almost unbelievable: 1st Midwest Convention race, 1st Woodside band race, 1st Fond du Lac Auction race 2 times, 1st Bi-State Auction, 1st U.S. Championship, 1st Series Three, 1st Kenosha Futurity, 1st Lake County Auction, 1st Milwaukee Classic, 1st Lakeshore Championship, 1st AU Convention. The list goes on... Imagine, these are just special races, 300 - 400 miles!

Tony Rossi viewed the addition of Fred and Gerry Pieper as an instrumental move to success. Fred’s 40 plus years of experience qualifies him as one of United States premier experts. Fred’s brother, Gerry, has also advised and shared with the Rossi loft his expertise that made the Pieper brothers loft the all-time best loft in Milwaukee! Pieper Brothers tradition has been passed down from my friend and their father Harry Pieper, a legend in United State’s Racing Pigeon Annuals.

The Rossi Loft’s future is a bright star. With Ernie and Nick Rossi (sons of Tony) both in a junior program as well as Mark and Jason Pieper, pigeon racing will be maintained at these high standards for years to come at the Rossi-Pieper loft.
